According to reports in France Sadio Mane has reached an agreement to join Real Madrid from Liverpool.
Despite having a more difficult second season Mane has played a pivotal role playing alongside Salah and Firmino, scoring 20 goals this season.
According to France Football, Mane is close to joining Real Madrid after agreeing terms with the Champions League holders.
But the Senegal international’s move to the Santiago Bernabeu is now in doubt due to Zinedine Zidane’s departure last week.
Mane was lined up to become Madrid’s first marquee arrival this summer but Zidane’s decision to step down as manager has complicated the deal.
France Football report that Zidane had a large input in Madrid’s decision to push for Mane but following his exit, the transfer is on hold until a new manager is in place.
The good news is that there have been claims Real Madrid have not agreed a transfer fee with Liverpool.
Madrid’s decision to press on with their efforts to sign Mane now depends on the opinion of the new manager they appoint to replace Zidane.
This story is one of many that will come out this transfer window. Let’s just hope that it goes away as quickly as it appeared.
